The Passage Ride 10.26.18
If you drive on the streets of LA at night, chances are you’ve seen a pack of cyclists pass you by. There’s no shortage of these night riding groups. But of all those rides, there’s one that’s a little more… exotic. It’s called “The Passage of a Few People Through a Rather Brief Moment in Time,” or colloquially known as The Passage Ride. The ride was started four years ago by Nathan Snider and Sean Deyoe. The ride meets every Wednesday at 8:30pm at California Donuts #21, at the corner of 3rd & New Hampshire, in Koreatown. It leaves at 9 pm. On a recent Wednesday night we strapped on our helmets and went to explore a unique themed based route. In short our lives were changed for the better - we saw new things and old things anew. So next time your free on a Wednesday night we say… Get Out There – The Passage Ride is a box you will want to check.
Crafting A Call To Action 10.17.18
Three artists use their work to call for change. In the Craft & Folk Art Museum's slate of new fall exhibitions, three L.A. based women put their talents to work to draw attention to larger issues. The concurrent solo shows - Merion Estes' "Unnatural Disasters", Sherin Guirguis' "Of Thorns and Love" and Uzumaki Cepeda's "Daydreaming" - is open to the public and a must see experience event. With all three artists working with traditional craft-based materials in utterly unconventional ways, the better to tell their stories of human experience and our relationship to the planet, and each other.
Mental Health Awareness Week 10.13.18
One in 5 Americans are affected by mental health conditions. Stigma is toxic to their mental health because it creates an environment of shame, fear and silence that prevents many people from seeking help and treatment. The perception of mental illness won’t change unless we act to change it. Stigma is 100% curable. Compassion, empathy and understanding are the antidote. Your voice can spread the cure. Stand with us as one unified voice and fight the stigma of mental illness. Together we can Cure the Stigma.

The City of Los Angeles holds many distinctions. L.A. is the entertainment capital of the world, a cultural mecca boasting more than 100 museums, and a paradise of the ideal weather. From the Walk of Fame’s collection of stars, numbering more than 2,614 and growing, Los Angeles is a great the place to be inspired. Everybody needs a pick me up now and again — especially when it’s only Tuesday and all you can think about is the weekend — and what better way to get motivated than to lean in and dig deep into the culture of Los Angeles. From Malibu to Runyon Canyon to Santee Ally the design team spent its beginning process soaking up the people, places, food and sun of Los Angeles as the backdrop and foundation of TACKMA Studio, Season One. We hope you enjoy.

A DAY AT LACMA: 3D DOUBLE VISION 7.21.18
The quest for the perfect 3D representation drives innovation, stimulates creative expression, and sparks wonder in generation after generation. “3D: Double Vision” is the first American exhibition to survey a full range of artworks, dating from 1838 to the present day, that produce the illusion of three dimensions. These artworks function by activating binocular vision—the process by which our brains synthesize the information received by our two eyes into a single, volumetric image. Drawn from the realms of art, science, mass culture, and entertainment, the artworks in “3D: Double Vision” will astonish the eyes and provoke the imagination.
